Tom Cunningham Trust Project
Trócaire through its philanthropy unit, has secured additional funding to complement the work of WOLREC in Traditional Authority Ngabu.

The new funding is for a period of two years and aimed at addressing some of the gaps and needs of the ICSP.
The development and the design of the programme was informed by lessons of our implementation, community consultations and engagement with key government departments which we work with.
​
The proposed project will target T/A Ngabu in the following GVHs-Mphamba, Mkumaniza, Balala, Kalulu, Chaonanjiwa, Therere, Chizenga, Nkhwangwa, Saopa and Msomo.

Project objectives:
Overall Outcome: To improve the lives of women and their families in 10 rural communities in southern Malawi
Objective One: Women, their families, and communities living in poverty have increased income and food security.
Objective Two: Women have increased voice and leadership in formal and informal decision-making structures.

Key targets for the project
- 50 women’s groups benefit from increased savings.
- 1,250 women establish and manage sustainable businesses.
- 1,250 families (5,625people) have increased annual income to support their needs.
- 1,000 women actively participate in decision-making structures.
- About 41,650 people indirectly benefit from more gender equitable decision-making.
