THE 6TH ALL-INCLUSIVE STAKEHOLDERS CONFERENCE OF THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (PAC)

WOLREC Executive Director Maggie Kathewera Banda, who also serves as Chairperson of the NGO Gender Coordination Network, is among the moderators at the 6th All-Inclusive Stakeholders Conference of the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) currently underway in Blantyre.

The conference has attracted wide representation from academia, the faith community, political parties, civil society, government officials, women's groups, traditional leaders, and the judiciary, among others.

This morning, she moderated a session on Malawi’s Economic Situation by Reserve Bank Governor Dr Mafuta Mwale, which addressed current pressing challenges such as fuel scarcity, forex shortages, and the rising cost of living.

Also in attendance is WOLREC Programme Manager Chimwemwe Chimasula, representing the Women's Manifesto Movement.

The two-day conference is being held under the theme: “Securing Consensus on Transparent and Accountable Electoral Governance through Dialogue.” It is specifically focusing on the upcoming September 16, 2025 General Elections.
