Parliament engages CSOs

The Parliament of Malawi has engaged WOLREC, NGO Gender Coordination Network and other Civil Society Organizations in a stakeholder meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration in governance.

WOLREC Executive Director Maggie Kathewera Banda who is also NGO-GCN Chairperson was part of the meeting, hosted by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Sameer Suleman.

The Speaker highlighted the importance of inclusive participation in parliamentary processes to achieve Malawi’s development goals.

The engagement offered an opportunity to share updates on key Parliamentary initiatives and acknowledge the valuable support from stakeholders.

For organizations like WOLREC, such spaces are critical in amplifying women’s voices and advocating for increased participation of women in decision-making processes.
