Gender Transformative and Youth Inclusive Democracy to equip Technical Working Groups

In Mzuzu, the Women’s Legal Resources (WOLREC) is also holding a two-day training on Gender Transformative and Youth Inclusive Democracy to equip Technical Working Groups in the northern region with skills that deepen meaningful participation of women, youth and persons with disability in political decision-making processes and structures.

Sixty key stakeholders from the Ministry of Gender from Rumphi and Mzimba; NICE, Mzimba and Rumphi District Youth Offices, Malawi Council for Disability Affairs and Malawi Electoral Commission are among those participating.

Among the topics being unpacked include: gender and politics; transformational leadership and team building; breaking barriers to political inclusion; fundraising as well as strategies for lobbying and campaigning.

With support from the European Union, Oxfam is leading the Promoting Gender Transformative and Youth Inclusive Democracy in Malawi project as Malawians prepare to cast their votes in the 2025 General Elections.
